Our evolution
We're a company whose rich history spans over 100 years. Since our beginnings as a print manufacturer, we've evolved and adapted to the changing technological landscape, expanding our services to include a wide range of corporate communications solutions.
2021
Our tenth year of entering into the IR awards space. Over the last five years, we’ve celebrated over 120 shortlisted client projects.
2013
JP acquires land to build four-storey office space of 15,000 sq ft to support growth and development.
2011
The company’s first success in the Investor Relations awards space at the IR Best Practice Society Awards.
1967
Two company annual reports – typeset and printed by Jones and Palmer – were included in the Print Design Exhibition at the London Design Centre. This was the first national recognition of our creative services.
1964
The printing of annual reports and accounts for local companies began.
1963
Jones and Palmer became one of the first printing companies in the Midlands to offer in-house design services to compete with advertising agencies by offering a one stop shop for our customers.
1961
Occupation of new premises at 95 Carver Street.
1941
A German parachute mine destroyed the Vine public house in Carver Street, which would later become the site of Jones and Palmer’s print factory.
1921
Moved to larger premises at 98-100 Albion Street and opened a retail stationery shop at the front of the premises. The painted company name and details are still visible on the façade of the building which has been converted back to residential use.
1906
Jones and Palmer opened its doors in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter. Percy H. Jones and Harrold P. Palmer formed the company on the corner of Camden Street and Albion Street, formerly the Kingsway public house, and printed cards for necklets, earrings and brooches for local jewellery manufacturers, along with other small items such as visiting cards, letterheads, billheads, dance tickets and posters.
