The challenge
Volex plc is a leading integrated manufacturer specialising in critical power and data transmission products. Historically, Volex's messaging was heavily centred on their manufacturing prowess, driven by their acquisitive growth strategy. This manufacturing-centric narrative often overshadowed the vital markets that Volex serve and the significance of their products. Recognising the need for a strategic shift, the goal was to engage stakeholders by highlighting the impressive end products enabled by Volex’s components, thus reframing its identity beyond just manufacturing capabilities.
Our approach
Our approach began with the introduction of the strapline “Delivering critical connections”, encapsulating the essential role of Volex’s products. The opening pages of the report were crafted to take readers on a journey through Volex’s investment case, blending high-level messaging with detailed insights to provide a comprehensive view of the company’s value proposition. We integrated creative elements, such as narrative-focused splash spreads and impactful pages, to engage the reader’s imagination. Conversations with key stakeholders, including CFO Jon Boaden, highlighted the critical reliability of Volex’s products.
The outcome
The strategic shift in messaging effectively communicates the importance and impact of Volex’s products.
